The press conference for the FLUO sponsorship

The official presentation of the new sponsoring collaboration between our team and FLUO of the "Mavrogennis" group was held today.

The Olympiacos BCGeneral Director Christos Stavropoulos stressed that: "It is with great joy that we are here to announce our collaboration with the Mavrogenis corporate group and the Gree and Fluo products. It is in our strategic planning to form co-operations with the best in every area, and especially with a strong Greek corporation, with people that have values and vision and are willing to walk with us in both Greece and Europe".

This collaboration will be innovative and a lot of surprises for everyone and at the same time we plan on boosting our digital program and promote all our sponsors through our social media platforms.
I wish to our new associates all the best and I'm sure the great Olympiacos family is going to support their vision for development and success".

Giannis Sfairopoulos commented: "As the coach of Olympiacos and coming from Thessaloniki, just like the company of the Mavrogenis group, I'd like to welcome FLUO in southern Greece and in Europe. I believe it's going to be a fruitful collaboration for both parties. The team is going to stand by F:UO's side. I wish to a good co-operation and great relationship between our two companies".

The COO of the "Mavrogenis" group, Mr. Konstantinos Arapis commented next "I'd like to express our great satisfaction as well as the responsibility we take in attaching our new but dynamic brand name of FLUO with the historic team of Olympiacos. We are both champions and we both transcend country borders and compete in the international market. Our new brand includes a great variety of smartphones, tablets and accessories, completely embodying our motto which is "What's next?" I 'd like to thank Olympiacos for the hospitality and wish everyone all the best in both Greece and Europe"

«Focused against Barcelona»

During the Press Conference, Giannis Sfairopoulos received questions in regard to the team as well:

On the last signee of our team, Kyle Wiltjer: "I saw that the player is very open to the social media, so we'll give him a smartphone as well apart from a FLUO tablet. He's a player that's going to be added to the roster. He was selected because he has a very reliable perimeter shot. We have seen that the team is moving ahead, there are roles and I don't want any imbalance due to the incoming player. The players that are already here have already formed a solid roster and we got another player because the season is very long. We believe in Wiltjer's potential and I think he completely fits the spirit and philosophy of Olympiacos. His team spirit, his character, I believe he's going to give us something valuable in modern basketball, a forward that can shoot with excellent percentages from the perimeter".
On the game against the Blaugrana: "It's very dangerous that Barcelona is coming from five lost game. It is certain they are going to react. They have five days from the game against Murcia until they play us and as stated by their GM and their coach, it's a time of regrouping and will give their all in the game against us. So we have a very tough task ahead of us, we need to be very focused. We had the day off yesterday, we are starting preparing today and we really need to work a lot on every aspect of the game so as to be ready".

On when Vasilis Spanoulis and Kyle Wiltjer are going to be entering playing mode: "Spanoulis is at the last stage of rehab. We had said that we are going to be looking at it day by day. He still feels discomfort in his knee. When he doesn't feel that anymore, he's going to play. I cannot answer when that date is. He's trying, he's in rehabilitation program, right now we are focusing in strengthening the muscles around his knee so that the area can be decongested. It's a matter of time, but no one can determine that time. As for Wiltjer, when a player is coming while the season has already started, it's not easy to immediately assimilate the team philosophy. It's going to take time and we need to give him time. This is actually his first professional team and it's the first time he's leaving the States and is coming to a foreign country. There are going to be a lot of things he's gonna want to learn. When I see that he has understood the team spirit and our philosophy on both ends of the floor, he's going to be coming in to play. It's a different thing watching a player on video and another thing to coach them. I can't say when. Practices are going to determine that. He's going to have to learn about me and I about him and the same goes with his team mates. We are not rushing to have him play, there is no such pressure. We are not missing any one player that much. We definitely miss Tillie, but the gap is covered by the rest of the players and it doesn't show that much. Wiltjer is going to be added to be one more solution. He will definitely not be playing against Barcelona and I don't know about the game against Aris. The same with Spanoulis. Not playing against Barcelona. Maybe against Aris. We'll see".
