One Team in festive mood! (vid)

A day full of action, collaboration, and meaningful human connection took place at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, with the participation of the 6th-grade students of the 22nd Primary School of Piraeus and adults with intellectual disabilities from “PLOES” - the Society of Psychosocial Studies (EPSYME), as part of the One Team program.

The activity began with the first joint introduction of the two groups on the court of Hall 3 at the SEF. Through 3 simple, fun, and cooperative exercises, participants had the opportunity to “break the ice,” become familiar with the space, and get to know one another through play and teamwork.

Next, One Team ambassadors Sasha Vezenkov and Giannoulis Larentzakis, along with Nikola Milutinov, pleasantly surprised their young friends by appearing unexpectedly in the Fun Fan Zone. There, they participated the activity in a direct and unique way, as the children took on the role of journalists, conducting a mini-interview with Christmas-themed questions. The players’ answers determined whether… Santa Claus’s gift would appear.

All of this took place just before the “gift” of the day, which was none other than the meal offered by Healthy Habits to all participants.

Afterwards, the participants were divided into three teams, led by Sasha Vezenkov, Giannoulis Larentzakis, and Nikola Milutinov. Each team rotated through different activity stations, which included balance and accuracy exercises, knowledge-based games, shooting challenges such as tic-tac-toe, “electric” hoops, and shooting boxes, as well as creative drawing activities. The event culminated in a fun ARRENA® knowledge game, in which everyone participated, providing an enjoyable finale.

Special emphasis was also placed on the topic of healthy nutrition. Healthy Habits, which provided the meal of the day, offered a balanced meal featuring its bars, once again promoting the importance of healthy eating habits. At the same time, “PLOES” offered sweets, cakes, and cookies, creating a festive, Christmas-themed table.

The event concluded in an atmosphere of joy, love, and emotion, with gifts for all participants, once again highlighting the power of sports as a tool for inclusion, education, and meaningful human connection within the framework of One Team.

This was followed by a collaborative activity aimed at creating a choreography, which will be presented on January 29 in the main arena of the Peace and Friendship Stadium.
