World Children's Day centered on kids' emotions (Vid)
The new ONE TEAM session took place with the group of 6th-grade students from the 22nd Primary School of Piraeus and ONE TEAM ambassadors, Sasha Vezenkov and Giannoulis Larentzakis, in a day dedicated to children’s emotions and the importance of recognizing and expressing them.
The program included rhythm, running, and thinking games, combined with joy, laughter, basketball, and many surprises. In this atmosphere, the presence of Giannoulis Larentzakis was pivotal: the team’s ambassador in the EuroLeague ONE TEAM initiative took on a dynamic life-coach role and coordinated all the activities, giving the children space to open-up and collaborate.
Beyond his role as coordinator, Larentzakis also spoke to all the children who had the opportunity for this special meeting at the SEF. The Olympiacos’ guard emphasized: “The most important thing is to never lose the innocence you have as children, and when you grow up, stay as innocent as possible. The second most important thing is to not be on your phone and TikTok all the time.”
The students worked in groups, discussed their rights, their daily responsibilities, as well as their emotions, fundamental values for their development inside and outside school.
A special moment was the arrival of Sasha Vezenkov, who, amid applause and smiles, shared his own thoughts on how a child should feel and which principles they can apply in life to grow with confidence. The students of the 22nd Primary School of Piraeus listened carefully as our team’s player shared his thoughts: “The most important thing of all is to enjoy every moment. Even in studying, there are beautiful things. Don’t see it otherwise. You learn, and as you grow older you will see that these things are essential for where you want to go. You will have time to play, go out, or even for board games and video games, but the point is to enjoy everything, both obligations and the rights we have. I want to see your smiles, to see you enjoy whatever you do, whether here, at home, or at school. Don’t argue with each other; stay united. Positive emotions are always the strongest.”
The ONE TEAM ambassadors offered valuable advice, creating a true bridge of communication with the children, in a session full of enthusiasm and continuous, joyful surprises, while at the end they renewed their appointment for the next ONE TEAM activities.
The day concluded with gifts and big smiles, as all students received autographs and basketballs from MOTOROLA, EUROLEAGUE PREMIUM PARTNER.
