Bartzokas: «The game became a formality early on»

Olympiacos defeated Kolossos handily, preserving their strengths ahead of a tough streak of games in both the Euroleague and the Basket League.

“At first, I want to welcome my friend Makis back to the Greek league and wish him and Kolossos good luck”, was the first statement from the coach of the “red-and-whites”, Giorgos Bartzokas. He continued: “The game became more of a formality early on. For us it was important to win as painlessly as possible. We wanted to give Milutinov some rest, which we did in the nearly fifteen minutes that Spartalis played. They were important minutes. It was also important that Vezenkov would not play, as he is on antibiotics and exhausted. We also wanted to not really use the players that carried a heavy load in the prior days. Under these circumstances, it is important that we won. We’re moving on to our next obligations. I once again wish Kolossos good luck, and we are very thankful for the hospitality”.
