Vezenkov: «I want to establish myself»

Sasha Vezenkov has ‘anchored’ in Piraeus aiming to establish himself!

“I’m very happy that I will keep wearing the Olympiacos jersey for the next couple of years! I hope we leave that difficult predicament the whole planet has gone through behind us, have a very good season and the team succeeds in its goals”, the 25-year old forward said talking to the official Olympiacos’ web page.

And went on to say: “My personal bet is to succeed, to establish myself. I’ll be doing all that I can to help Olympiacos materialize goals that are high ones, as always. To make it though, we need to stay humble and work hard. The fans’ help is going to be very important in all of that. We want our fans by our side and we want to offer them happy moments. But still, all of that are distant right now. What we need to do before everything else is to continue hard work from pre-season, continue through the course of the season, stay together and I believe that something good will be coming out of this. And above all else I wish for health. Anyway, after everything we’ve been through, this is the most important thing. But we need to leave all negative thoughts behinds us, keep the lessons we have been taught during the quarantine time and face the new season as a challenge”.

When asked to be more specific and frame the goals of the upcoming season, he pointed out: “I generally avoid big talking and it may sound cliché, however, first of all we need to make a good core and find chemistry. New players are going to be joining and they need to fit with the ones already here. So it’s still very early to be talking about any specific goals, but we certainly want to run a better course than in the previous two seasons and we certainly want to bring the team back to top level”.
