Sfairopoulos: «The biggest final of all»

Olympiacos is hosted Thursday (31/3, 19.45 CET) by Khimki for the 13th days of the Euroleague TOP-16 and Giannis Sfairopoulos and Hakim Warrick talked about the game against the Russian team.

GIANNIS SFAIROPOULOS: «The game against Khimki is the greatest final of all for us, there hasn’t been a game when we were all together since the beginning of the season, and that’s the case now as well. The team is in a good rhythm. We need to remain focused and control the tempo. Khimki is an excellent offensive team, they run the floor well, they score too many points and we’ll need to control the tempo and adjust the game to our plan. There is no word such as fatigue when you play a final, we have been playing a lot of critical games lately, this is the truth, but where we are now we have to give all we’ve got. It’s certainly important to manage our energy, but the players give their all without thinking about fatigue. In general, the latest results were positive for our team, we are in a good tempo and our psychology is good. We want to play a good game in court where only Fener and Real Madrid have won this season. We are a very good team as well and we are going there to play our game. It’s certain that they have been trying to play a little better defense with the new coach, but they have a lot of talent offense wise, they execute very fast in both open and closed court and they still play up tempo”.

HAKIM WARRICK: «It’s not a problem to have been playing back to back finals, we know what the situation is, we have been experiencing it every day and since we aim big, we are going to have to play big games as well. That’s how it is. I get better every day, I keep on adjusting, my team mates are helping me and all is fine».
