Reed: "I feel I can really help"

Olympiacos’ new signing, Willie Reed landed Sunday afternoon (October 27) in Greece.

“I’m happy to be here”, the American center stated. “I’m excited for the opportunity I’ve been given. I talked about it with my family and as soon as we heard about the prospect of me coming here, we felt blessed. People call me “showtime”, that’s my nickname, so that’s what you can be expecting from me. I bring a lot of energy when I step on the court, I play hard, grab rebounds, dunk, block. The biggest part of my game is rebounding, however, I get to finish plays in the post and dunk”.

Asked about what he knows about his new team, he replied: “I watched the last game. I also know Brandon Paul, we have played together, just like Wade Baldwin. I know the history behind the team. My friend, Briante Webber played here last season, so I have watched a few things. I feel I can really help Olympiacos and I’m excited”.

Finally, about whether it’s going to take time before he adjusts to the European style, he replied: “I don’t think I’m going to need a lot of time to adjust. My game is set pick n’ roll that leads to the rim, finishing after rebounding, so I don’t think it’s going to take me long to adjust. Maybe there are some things I won’t be feeling comfortable about, but I’m going to figure them out. I don’t think there’s going to be something to get to me”.
