Miller-McIntyre: “I’m excited to play for the Olympiacos fans” (Vid)

Codi Miller-McIntyre arrived in Greece to undergo his medical examinations and made his first statements as an Olympiacos player at Athens Airport.

Asked about his arrival at the club, the former Crvena Zvezda player said: “I’m tired from the flight right now. But I’m excited to be here. Tomorrow I’ll speak with the coach and the staff.”

Asked what convinced him to accept Olympiacos’ offer, Miller-McIntyre emphasized: “I’ve always wanted to play in Greece. I’ve been thinking about it for the last five years, and I wanted the opportunity to play for Olympiacos alongside the top players, the coaching staff, and everyone who works within the organization.”

Regarding the conversations he had with Tyson Ward and Sasha Vezenkov, the American guard said: “I’m excited to play with everyone. Everyone on this team has incredible talent, and everyone is special in different ways. Especially Tyson, he has great talent. It’s a blessing to be able to share the court with players like these. Sasha, of course. I don’t need to say much about him. Everyone is important, and I’m excited to work with them.”

Asked whether winning the EuroLeague creates extra pressure or serves as motivation, he replied: “I’m a motivated player and I’m ready to work. I’m taking it day by day, game by game, step by step. I try not to look too far ahead. I see what everyone needs, and I know what the team and the coach need. As for me, I intend to take it day by day and become more comfortable.”

As for the message he would like to send to the Olympiacos fans, the club’s new player said: “I’m very excited to play for them. I’ve had some great battles against Olympiacos. I’m part of their family now, and I’m coming from a team that has a brotherhood with Olympiacos. I’m very happy and excited about that.”
