Vangelis Angelou returned to Piraeus in the summer of 2010 after almost 20 years. The Greek coach and Aleksandar Kesar are going to be the immediate associates of Dusan Ivkovic.
Born in 1962 in Chalkida, he made a career playing for Apollo Patras, Olympiacos, Panionios and Iraklis, while starting his coaching career in Chalkida, which he led to the A2 division starting from the 3rd National Category.
He moved to Thessaloniki during the 2001-02 season and sat in the Aris bench next to Milan Minic, while a few months later he went to Athens and worked next to Panagiotis Giannakis in Maroussi till 2005.
In the next couple of years, Vangelis Angelou went to Moscow to become the direct partner of Dusan Ivkovic in the Dynamo bench. On November 7, 2007 he took over AEK. His last team before joining Olympiacos was Trikala, which he joined in the middle of the 2008-09 season and led her to secure the A1 caterogy.
